Vice President of Ministry and Programs

The Vice President of Programs and Ministry is a key member of the executive leadership team at Crescent Project, responsible for guiding, aligning, and advancing the organization’s ministry initiatives in pursuit of its mission: to ensure more Muslims have the opportunity to hear the gospel and be connected with a follower of Jesus. This senior leader will provide spiritual and strategic oversight for multiple teams, translating vision into actionable strategy while cultivating a Christ-centered culture characterized by unity, clarity, and innovation.

Working closely with the President and executive team, the VP will help drive strategic priorities, enhance organizational impact, and ensure that Crescent Project’s programs remain relevant, effective, and responsive to the needs of both the Church and Crescent Project’s Area Coordinators. This role calls for a spiritually mature, relationally gifted, and results-driven leader with deep ministry experience and a passionate commitment to seeing the gospel shared with Muslims in North America and beyond.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop multiple ministry teams and leaders to fulfill organizational goals and vision.

  • Foster unity and collaboration across departments, cultivating a shared commitment to ministry excellence.

  • Provide clarity on vision and expectations, ensuring each team understands its role in the broader mission.

  • Lovingly and consistently hold direct reports accountable for outcomes, effectiveness, and spiritual integrity.

  • Work closely with the Vice President of Finance, Administration, and Human Resources to ensure operational efficiency and effective resource allocation across all ministry and program initiatives.

Vision & Strategy

  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to set and implement quarterly, annual, 3-year, and 10-year goals.

  • Translate high-level vision into actionable strategies across ministry and program areas.

  • Inspire innovation and initiative through a proactive “what's it going to take” mindset.

  • Continuously evaluate and improve ministry effectiveness through data-informed decisions and feedback loops.

External Relations & Partnerships

  • Cultivate meaningful partnerships with churches, mission agencies, and other organizations to further the mission.

  • Represent the ministry externally with professionalism, passion, and spiritual integrity.

  • Seek opportunities to expand the organization’s reach and impact through collaborative Kingdom efforts.

Constituent Understanding & Service

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the needs, expectations, and challenges of key audiences—especially laity and missions leaders within the local church.

  • Ensure programs and resources are relevant, impactful, and accessible to those audiences.

  • Actively listen to feedback from constituents to inform program design and delivery.

Spiritual Leadership

  • Embody a personal commitment to Christ through a life of prayer, Scripture, and abiding.

  • Lead by example in cultivating a Christ-centered culture across the organization.

  • Facilitate rhythms of spiritual disciplines within teams, including prayer gatherings, retreats, and ongoing discipleship.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • A mature and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in ministry or nonprofit leadership, including team supervision and strategic planning.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to unify and inspire diverse teams.

  • Proven experience in designing and managing successful programs or ministry initiatives.

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to cast vision and align teams around strategic goals.

  • Deep understanding of the local church ecosystem and global missions landscape.

  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of Crescent Project.

Preferred

  • Experience working in or alongside Muslim ministry contexts.

  • Background in cross-cultural ministry, church mobilization, or theological training.
