Personal Support Raising

Crescent Project operates through the generosity of individuals and churches committed to the cause of reaching Muslims for Christ. In this same spirit, all staff candidates are expected to trust God and raise a financial support team to fund them in ministry. We do not provide salaries.

We believe that personal support raising is not only Biblical but builds character, grows faith, and solidifies the calling of the candidate. We work with the ministry Kingdom Come Training to help staff candidates meet their personal support goals.

Staff Categories

Full-Time: Persons who serve with Crescent Project as full-time employees. They complete the full application and assessment process and are required to raise full financial support for their salary, benefits and expenses. These staff members have full access to essential services from the organization. They have job descriptions and lines of supervision. They can serve as field staff, project/event staff, and on leadership teams. Full-time staff are required to attend all major events: Staff Retreat, Sahara Challenge, and National Conference. Full-time staff contribute to Crescent Project through the 10% assessment on all donations.

Part-time: Persons who serve as part-time employees for a minimum of 15 hours per week. They are required to complete the application and assessment process and are expected to raise financial support sufficient to cover their part-time salary based on number of hours of work each week. They have job descriptions and lines of supervision. They can serve as field staff, project/event staff, and on leadership teams and have full access to essential services. Part-time staff are required to attend all major events: Staff Retreat, Sahara Challenge, and National Conference. Part-time staff contribute to CP through the 10% assessment on all donations.

Affiliate: Persons who wish to have a more formal relationship with Crescent Project than an Advocate and need an official platform (email address, business cards, and ministry account) for ministry. They are required to complete the application and assessment process and are expected to raise a minimum in $450 financial support to cover their expenses. This $450 can be fundraised or donated from personal funds. If the person can lead a fundraising dinner in their area, the $450 will be waived. They have job descriptions and lines of supervision. They can serve as field staff, project/event staff, and have full access to essential services. Affiliates are required to attend all major events: Staff Retreat, Sahara Challenge, and National Conference.

Advocate: This category is primarily for the "tribe" or "gathering" - people who want to be connected to Crescent Project through our various trainings and want to "belong" to the movement but do not have a formal employment relationship with Crescent Project. Advocate members will be asked to complete an application form and attend Sahara Challenge at least once. They are also required to attend the National Conference. Since an Advocate is not technically on staff, they are not required to attend the Staff Retreat, but it is encouraged. Advocates will sign a "Memo of Understanding" that is drafted by Crescent Project. This memo will outline their areas of responsibilities and supervision.
